AHU filter monitoring

Change AHU filters
at the right time, with a record to prove it.

SmartHVAC measures the pressure drop across each filter stage in an air handling unit. You and your client get an alert when a stage needs changing.

The problem

Most AHU filters are changed by date.

A filter visit is usually booked on a schedule. Some filters come out with life left in them. Others clog early, and airflow drops until the next visit. Without a reading from inside the unit, nobody can tell which is which.

SmartHVAC tells you which filter is getting clogged, and when to plan the replacement.

What it measures

What SmartHVAC reads inside the unit.

Pressure drop per filter stage
Panel, bag and HEPA, measured before and after each stage.
Fan motor current
Shows whether the fan is running and how hard.
Temperature and humidity
Of the air after the final filter.
Cellular connection
Works in roof voids and plant rooms. Nothing touches the site's network.

Readings are checked around the clock. When a stage needs changing, the alert names the unit and the stage, and goes to both the service company and the client.

The dashboard

What you see for each unit.

A plain-words summary on top, then every filter stage, the air after the filters and the fan, with the history behind each reading. The same view works on a phone.

Energy

Loaded filters cost fan power.

In units that hold a set airflow, the fan speeds up as the filters load, and draws more current. In units with a fixed-speed fan, airflow drops instead. SmartHVAC tracks fan current next to the pressure drop, so you can see what a loaded filter is costing and change it before that cost builds up.

Audits

A record behind every filter change.

Every filter stage keeps a timestamped pressure history. It shows how far a filter had loaded before it was changed, and the drop when the new one went in. When an auditor asks about a unit, the record answers, next to the change log you already keep.

Plan filter visits from readings

Book the change when a stage needs it, with the right filters on the van. Your client gets the same alert, so the visit is expected and the reading backs it up. If it should carry your brand rather than ours, or feed your own customer portal, ask us.
